Lisa Pagan was born and raised in Bronx, New York. She has always had a love for children and finds their everyday, small accomplishments, the most rewarding part of her nanny job. After high school, she attended Bronx Community College obtaining her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. While volunteering as an assistant teacher to a child with special needs, Lisa decided to pursue a degree which would further her knowledge of children and child development. After completing her Associates she continued her education at Herbert H. Lehman College, obtaining her Bachelor degree in Psychology. While attending her final year at Lehman Lisa worked as a nanny for a little girl with special needs. This was such a rewarding position that Lisa decided to follow her heart and become a career nanny. Over a period of 14 years she has worked with a few different families. “Nanny Lisa” still remains in touch with many of the children she’s worked with, as each child holds a special place in her heart.
Lisa has now found her place, working with an amazing family, who has welcomed her as part of the family. “The one year old little girl that I care for is an absolute pleasure, who brings joy to everyone she meets.”
Lisa enjoys traveling, pen palling, reading, spending time with friends and family, and her little charge. Lisa has two daughters, Amanda and Meagen, and recently got engaged to Stephen. The highlight of Lisa’s day is arriving to work, where she is greeted daily by cheery smiles, enthusiastic little hands reaching for her, and the promise of a fun filled, educational day.
Lisa was nominated for Helper of the Year by her employers, Mr. & Mrs. C.. Mrs. C. describes Lisa as a person who strives to be the best possible care giver. “She is extremely devoted, loving and loyal. Lisa is a teacher by nature and constantly teaches our daughter both learning skills as well as social skills.”
Lisa enjoys documenting the baby’s growth in creative ways, and passing these gifts on to the parents. She has made photo albums, picture books, videos set to music and a garden stone with impressions of her charge’s hand and foot prints.
Mr. & Mrs. C agree that they are lucky to have Lisa in their lives. “We don’t know what we would do without Lisa. She has every quality we are looking for in a nanny. She is really the perfect fit for our family.”
