By combining equal parts of store-bought applesauce and cinnamon, children create dough that can be used for making their own holiday ornaments.
To make the ornaments:
Combine equal parts of store-bought applesauce and cinnamon
Mix the dough together until it’s stiff and can be easily formed into a ball
Place the ball of dough between two sheets of wax paper and roll it flat until it is about 1/8 of an inch thick
Use holiday-themed cookie cutters to cut the dough into shapes
Add a hole to the top of each ornament so you’ll have a place to thread a piece of ribbon or yarn through after the ornament has hardened.
Allow the ornaments to air dry on a wax paper lined cookie sheet for 24 hours.
These handmade ornaments make lovely gifts or can be used as tree decoration or gift tag embellishments.
