At last year’s International Nanny Association Annual Conference that we held in Tampa Bay, Florida, Susan Tokayer was awarded her 15 year INA Service Award Pin.
The INA Service Award Pin is presented to nanny educators, referral agency owners (or their staff), and business owners (or their staff) who serve the in-home child care industry.
The Service Award Pin serves to recognize those within the in-home child care industry for their hard work, dedication and commitment to professional excellence.
Susan founded Family Helpers in 1995. Susan is an active member of the in-home childcare industry and has served on the board of directors of the International Nanny Association since 2002. Susan currently serves as the association’s co-president.
Recognized as an expert in the field of in-home child care, Susan has been featured in Westchester WAG magazine, The New York Times, Forbes, Parents magazine, Westchester Parent magazine and Westchester Family magazine. She has given radio interviews on WGCH, Greenwich, CT and the BBC.
As a former psychiatric social worker and working mother herself, Susan has firsthand experience with the challenges parents face when trying to secure quality in-home child care for their young children. As a result of her experience, Susan retired from psychiatric social work and Family Helpers was born.
